HEAD TO HEAD

The two sides have met on four occasions with both teams having won twice.

The last time the two sides met was at Cheltenham in July this year and it was Surrey who came out on top by seven wickets.

The Stars won the toss and elected to field.

By the time that the Storm openers Rachel Priest and Smriti Mandhana had returned to the pavilion their side were 66 for two but only three other batters reached double figures as Storm posted a total of 132 for nine from their allotted overs. Sophia Dunkley was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three for 18.

50 not out from 34 balls by Sarah Taylor broke the back of the total as Surrey reached their target for the loss of just three wickets.

Head Coach, Trevor Griffin will pick the starting XI from the following squad:

Heather Knight, Anya Shrubsole, Fran Wilson, Stafanie Taylor, Smriti Mandhana, Rachel Priest, Sophie Luff, Freya Davies, Claire Nicholas, Lauren Parfitt, Danielle Gibson, Lissy McLeod, Amara Carr, Naomi Dattani and Rebecca Silk.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

“We didn’t quite fire on the day when we played Surrey earlier in the competition. However, our focus will remain on what we have to do to win the game and take some momentum on to Hove.

“They’ve got some great players. Sarah Taylor and Nat Sciver can change a game on their own, Laura Marsh is strong with the ball and then you have the South African trio of Lizelle Lee, Dane van Niekerk and Marizanne Kapp. They’re a strong side and we know it’ll be a tough test, but we will be focusing on doing our processes well and hopefully that will see us come out on top.”
