Lauren named in ECB Development XI to play New Zealand
The ECB Development XI to take on New Zealand Women in their 50-over warm-up match in Leicester on Friday (June 21st) has been confirmed.
The group, which will be captained by Hollie Armitage, includes Western Storm seamer Lauren Filer and also Issy Wong who is currently on loan at Storm.
England Performance Batting Coach, Jon Lewis will lead the team as Head Coach.
Kate Cross, who along with Lauren Filer has been named in England’s ODI squad for the forthcoming Metro Bank ODI series against the White Ferns, also features.
Having represented England U19s in their Tri Series against Sri Lanka and Australia earlier this year, Sunrisers’ Jodi Grewcock is also selected as well as Thunder duo Seren Smale and Fi Morris after impressing for their regions.
The warm-up fixture will act as preparation for the White Ferns ahead of their upcoming Metro Bank ODI series against Heather Knight’s England Women, which begins in Durham on June 26th, and important match experience for those selected.
The match takes place at the County Ground, Leicestershire CCC on Friday with play starting at 11am.
Players from the four regional teams that qualified for Charlotte Edwards Cup Finals day on Saturday were not available for selection.
