The Role

Are you an enthusiastic, committed, ECB Level 3 (minimum) qualified (or equivalent) coach with a keen interest in developing the women’s and girls’ game? Are you passionate about developing young players’ individual and team performance? Would you like to be part of an inclusive, supportive and aspirational team?

We have a new position and fantastic opportunity within our Academy and Pathway department: Pathway Coach and Women & Girls Lead.

In this role you will be primarily responsible for the design and delivery of County Age Group and EPP sessions in the girls’ pathway. Alongside this, you will manage and monitor the design, implementation, and development of the women and girls’ coaching programme to ensure high quality delivery across the winter and summer programme. Your other responsibilities will be delivering coaching across the boys’ Somerset Pathway with a focus on batting delivery.

Your key responsibility areas include leading on strategic direction of Somerset Women’s & Girls’ Pathway Cricket and designing and delivering a coaching curriculum and playing philosophy incorporating women’s, girls’ county age group, boys’ county age group, boys’ emerging players programme and boys’ academy cricket.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience in coaching and mentoring with a passion for, and track record, in developing young people. You understand the ECB Pathway and Coaching guidelines, have experience in setting up and delivering coaching programmes and are a member of the ECB Coaches Association. You work collaboratively, with clear communication skills and excellent people skills, Your high level of emotional intelligence enables you to positively influence stakeholders and get the best out of each person.
