Rachel returns for 2018
Western Storm are delighted to be able to announce that one of our most popular players from the last two years will be returning to wear the green again in the 2018 Kia Super League.
Wicket-keeper Rachel has signed as one of the three overseas players for the forthcoming title defence.
The 32-year-old played a key role in Western Storm lifting the Kia Super League trophy last year, with a century against Yorkshire Diamonds plus 72 from just 36 balls in the final against Southern Vipers.
She finished the tournament as the leading run scorer and was also voted Players’ Player of the Year at the End of Season Awards.
In 2017 she scored 261 runs in seven matches at an average 43.50 with a top score of 106 and a strike rate of 164.15.
After agreeing to return, Rachel said: “I’ve really enjoyed the last two years with Western Storm and last season was absolutely incredible. To win the KSL was amazing and I can’t wait to meet up with everyone again. We have built something very special here over the last two years and I’m sure that will continue again this time around.”
Western Storm Head Coach, Trevor Griffin said: “We are very pleased that Rachel will be back with us this year. Her contributions both on and off the field last season were outstanding. She is an extremely popular member of the squad and I have no doubt that she will be a big performer for us again in 2018.”
