Fran called in to England squad for ICC World T20

Fran Wilson has been called in to the England ICC World T20 squad.

She will replace Katherine Brunt who has suffered a recurrence of her long standing back injury.

Brunt left the field after bowling five balls in England’s final warm-up game and scans have shown she will be unable to continue in the tournament.

Fran has featured in 14 IT20s for England, scoring 152 runs with a best of 43 not out at a strike rate of 93.82.

The 27-year-old scored 132 runs for Western Storm in 2018 at an average of 33 with a best of 58 not out at a strike rate of 109.

Fran is not expected to arrive in time to be available for selection for Saturday’s first game against Sri Lanka.
