Issy and Ellie extend their stay

Western Storm are pleased to be able to announce that the loan agreements for Issy Wong and Ellie Anderson from Central Sparks have been extended.

Ellie will remain with Storm until the end of the season, whilst Issy will be available for the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy match against her parent club at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Monday August 26th.

Head Coach, Trevor Griffin is delighted that the two seamers have extended their time in the region. “Ellie has been great around the group this season and has settled in really well from day one. She bowls across three phases and has a lot of skill.

“She’s been a true professional. The way she works in training and the fact that she got picked up in The Hundred shows that she is highly thought of.”

“Issy just needed to play. She’s come in and been great. She’s shared her experiences freely and is back playing with a smile on her face. She’s running in like I remember her doing when I’ve worked with her previously. She’s got that little skip back and she’s bowling with great pace.

“She excites people, she’s full of energy and she’s a real inspiration. The way she goes about things and how she plays the game demonstrates that she has a real passion for the game. She wants to bowl fast and take wickets but there’s so much more to her than that. She’s a real competitor and having her in the environment can only be  good for the development of our young unit.”
