Heather helps England to comprehensive win
Heather Knight once again played a starring role as England comprehensively beat New Zealand in the opening ODI.
The England Captain made 67 not out as England triumphed by eight wickets.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the hosts were dismissed for 178.
The wickets were shared around, with seven bowlers each claiming a scalp, but it was Tash Farrant, making her first ODI appearance in just over seven years, who returned the best figures of two for 31.
England reached their target for the loss of just two wickets, with player of the match Tammy Beaumont top scoring with 71.
The second ODI will be played in Dunedin on Friday, 11am (10pm GMT, Thursday).
