VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Ahead of the fixtures, Western Storm Captain, Sophie Luff said: “It’ll be a good test against the Vipers this week. They’re a strong outfit and that’s what we want ahead of the first competitive fixture next week. The starting XI for that Charlotte Edwards Cup match hasn’t been finalised yet, so these games against the Vipers present a great opportunity for players to put their hand up and get themselves in the selection picture.

“We had a good run out against Central Sparks last week and we’ve got good strength in depth. There’s good competition for places, which is exactly what we want.

“I don’t think the pre-season programme could have gone any better. We went to Desert Springs and we’ve played some good competitive cricket. We’ve also spent a really good amount of time together off the pitch and that’s been invaluable. This weekend it’s about fine tuning everything that we’ve been working on ahead of next week.”

NEXT MATCH

Western Storm begin the Charlotte Edwards Cup campaign on Saturday May 14th when we take on Central Sparks at Sophia Gardens.
