"She's influenced games at the highest level." - Trevor on Issy

It was announced today that Western Storm have signed Issy Wong on loan for the Charlotte Edwards Cup.

Head Coach, Trevor Griffin couldn’t be happier to have secured the services of such a quality player.

“We are absolutely delighted,” he explained. “To have an international player with her experience is a real coup. She’s played in the IPL and the Big Bash and she’s influenced games at the highest level.

“She will offer a lot on the field but she will do the same off it as well. Her being here is a real opportunity for our players to learn from her. Our squad can tap into her vast amount of knowledge and watch how she goes about things. It reminds me of the KSL days when we had Anya Shrubsole and our young bowlers were able to watch her and listen and tap into her game knowledge.

“I worked with Issy at Sydney Thunder and she’s a real character who will fit really well into our squad. I have no doubt that she’ll be very successful for us.

“Having someone of Issy’s calibre join us will certainly add something to the team and to us as a group. We’re all really looking forward to seeing her out on the park in the green and black.”
