Storm looking for Independent Talent Scouts

Western Storm are actively seeking expressions of interest to perform the role of ‘Independent Talent Scout’.

The Western Storm region comprises the counties of Cornwall, Devon, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. With an ever-expanding calendar of cricket and a vast geographical area to cover, Western Storm are aiming to grow the number of talent scouts operating across the region to help identify future talent could be part of Western Storm programmes. This includes our Regional Academy and Emerging Player Programme.  Scouts will work to build relationships across the game and help to ensure an open, robust, and transparent player identification process.

The major aspect of the role will be to observe players and complete scouting reports from performances demonstrated across the South West and Wales region.  This includes county senior and county age group fixtures, regional pathway fixtures and major club matches. The talent scouts will be expected to work closely with the team of Western Storm Talent Managers to understand the ‘Western Storm Player’ document and what Western Storm look for at each respective stage of the pathway.

We work to a ‘multiple eyes, multiple times’ approach when observing players and to have a greater number of people on the ground viewing the vast amount of activity that takes place in the summer will hugely support the talent pathway team ensure identify the best talent the region has to offer”
