Accountable to: Regional Director of Women’s Cricket

Responsible for: Western Storm Physiotherapist, Lead S&C Coach

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until January 31st 2025

Hours: Full time, minimum 40 hours per week (evenings and weekends will be required)

Salary: £50,000

Location: The Seat Unique Ground, Bristol (Regional travel will be required at times)

Who We Are

Western Storm are the elite women’s cricket team that represents the South West & Wales region. Serving a vast geographical area, Western Storm identifies and develops the most exciting female cricketing prospects from a rich talent pool comprising of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Wales.

Western Storm compete in the Charlotte Edwards Cup (T20) and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy (50 overs). Operating below the senior programme is the Western Storm Academy and the newly launched Western Storm Emerging Players Programme – two essential programmes that develop the next generation of female cricketing talent. Western Storm is an ambitious organisation and this key appointment represents an exciting and substantial opportunity to shape the women’s professional cricket landscape at a time of rapid evolution and investment.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to fulfil the role of Medical Services Lead / Lead Physiotherapist. This senior leadership role will work closely with the CMO to ensure that holistic, high quality medical care is delivered across the whole pathway.

In this role you will need to carry out accurate and effective assessments, diagnoses, treatments and rehabilitation programmes, oversee injury management programmes, lead return-to-play planning, lead on screening activities, manage records, lead the science and medicine stream of the Western Storm Performance Strategy and ensure a high level of medical governance is in place. You will also assume line management responsibilities of other members of staff in the science and medicine team and ensure all medical requirements are in place for all Western Storm activity. Safeguarding responsibilities are fundamental in this role and you will be required to demonstrate your ongoing commitment through acting within our code of conduct and participating in regular training.
